Testimonials

I’ve worked alongside Rachel in a number of recruitment processes. She has provided Thomas psychometric profiles to help us determine the work preferences of potential candidates and to give us additional insights to supplement knowledge gained in interviews.

Rachel is a joy to work with – she is warm and approachable, she asks perceptive questions and is willing to challenge preconceived assumptions. Rachel’s recent insights gave us the confidence to recruit a potential ‘wildcard’ candidate who is turning out to be top talent.”

I confess I came to coaching with a bit of scepticism: would it feel a bit too corporate for a researcher working in the charity sector? Never has keeping an open mind proved to be such good advice: the whole experience has been properly transformational – not a word I use lightly!

My extended period working with Rachel has spanned being a relatively new Head of function to being an established director at a national children’s charity. Two things really stand out from this time. The first is Rachel’s skill in using a variety of coaching tools and skills to support me to find actionable strategies for problems I’m having in my roles.

The profile analysis has enabled me to understand my strengths as a leader and how I can harness these without my potential areas of weakness holding me back. Having these profiles for my team has also made it so much easier to adapt my line management style for team members who need different things for me.

The second is Rachel’s ability to shine a light on unexpected area that I hadn’t been able to articulate were parts of my leadership that I was struggling with – such as fundamental questions of how different aspects of my identity come together to make me the leader I am. I owe Rachel a debt of gratitude for these gifts and would recommend Rachel’s services without hesitation.”

She asks great questions, comes with insight and tools, and knows instinctively when to challenge and when to encourage. I always look forward to our sessions.”

I brought Rachel’s expertise in to help my team work well together four years ago. I continue to use her as a coach, as do several of my team.

By having Rachel coach several people in the team, and run psychometric profiles on many of them, she is able to add enormous value to what we do, bringing a wider picture to each coaching conversation without breaching confidentiality.

What I love about Rachel’s coaching style, is how she is genuinely interested in me as a whole person, and how she provides me with challenge within a safe space. I am a better leader because of her questions.
